Are you looking for a natural way to complement your current thyroid treatment? Are you suffering from all of the symptoms, yet still in search of a diagnosis, and think that some vitamins could help your suffering?
Over the course of communicating with other thyroid sufferers, I have compiled a list of dietary supplements and techniques that have helped thyroid sufferers.
COCONUT OIL:
I have heard amazing things about pure coconut oil. There are many people on the Low Carbers Forum that swear by Coconut Oil [http://forum.lowcarber.org], and it is on the May 20, 2003 edition of Woman's World Magazine as a cure for thyroid ailments. I have it, and have used it sparingly. Not because I don't want to use it, just because I haven't been cooking for a while. When I cook, I use it!
If you are interested in learning more about coconut oil, you can check out this very informative site: http://www.coconutoilcorner.com/hypothyroidism.html
I purchased mine online at http://www.tropicaltraditions.com but I found a cheaper copy just recently at http://store.yahoo.com/saltoflife/orcocbut.html
In the meantime, you want to make sure you get pure and non-hydrogenated coconut oil.
GUGGELSTERONE:
Guggelsterone is a vitamin that has been touted by others to help thyroid functioning. My husband made me get guggulsterone a few years before I was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and I used it until I received prescription medication. There isn't too much information currently on other thyroid related sites as it relates to this vitamin, which actually might help some un-diagnosed thyroid sufferers. I found some of these gugel vitamins at http://vitamintrader.com
EVENING PRIMROSE OIL:
If you are suffering from hair loss, a friend of mine in Canada takes Evening Primrose Oil to remedy this effect. A direct link to one of these vitamins can be found at:

DIETARY CHANGES:
Diet may also have an impact on your thyroid functioning. I found a great site that shows how diet affects thyroid functioning, and how your diet should be altered to improve this at:
