Guestbook for diagnosis.4t.com I'm temporarily including Diagnosis.4t.com's Guestbook effective 2/25/08 - I'd previously shut it down in February of 2006 because of a large number of unsolicited spam messaging. It looks like the server has produced a method of eliminating random spamming, so let's see if this works! Margie, Feb. 2008

Comments:Finally!!! I've been suffering from low body temperature for years and, after an extremely stressful event approximately 18 months ago, my body stalled. I lost nearly three-quarters of my hair, my skin and nails went into shock and my body refused to let loose of a single pound. However, my thyroid tests were "normal". I am working with Dr. Traci Grossman (internist) in Las Vegas, NV, after finding a book entitled "Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome" (see also WilsonsThyroidSyndrome.org). Thank you for having this website. I thought I was losing my mind and every other doctor wanted to put me on anti-depressants and get me into the gym (hello! already there on a regular basis). Your website has been very helpful as I wait to meet with my doctor regarding starting treatment. Regards, Heidi Nagel Las Vegas, NV

Comments:Thanks Margie! I found your website very informative. I think with a TSH level of 8.8 and a T4 level of 5.75 and displaying 23 out of the 30 symptoms, I will demand treatment from my GP who says he will "just monitor the situation" with further blood tests. I can't help thinking this is just an attempt to save the British NHS money. Perhaps his practice gets penalized for prescribing lifelong 'free' treatment??!

Comments:Margie, I'm so glad to have stumbled upon your website. It has been so helpful and encouraging. Also, thanks for including my personal account of thyroid cancer. It's an ongoing battle to reach 'normality' and I'm not sure if I'll ever attain it, but at least I know there are others out there going through same or similar experiences and I can learn from them. I must check out T3 with my doctor!! Thanks again - Leah

Comments:Thanks to reading your expeirences I now have a doctor right too, giving me the same advice you give online. Normal MD doctors that do not specialize in the endrocrine system do not know the answers. The secrete is to find yourself a doctor who Listens to you and specializes is the specific areas you need help in. I finally after 5 months found the doctor to give me the right dose for my specific body, and t3 as well. I hope to be losing weight and feeling better within 3-6 weeks.Maybe now exersize out will pay off. All because of what i learned from Margie i am no longer lost and alone with my symtoms! Thankyou Margie!!!

Comments:How wonderful to see that people like you are encouraging thyroid sufferers to perservere until they get some help. I spent ten years feeling "not good" after becoming hypo post RAI for Graves and a further seven years in "hypo hell" until my search led me to a physician (Dr. David Derry) who had the answer to a better life. I now won't settle for anything less as none should have to. Keep up the good work Margie.

Comments:I was misdiagnosed for years but this year marks a decade since I near-crawled into a new GP's office, my entire body trembling to hear her exclaim, "I know what is wrong with you! You have Graves Disease." and whisked me off for RAI. I lost my career, my marriage, my home, my friends, my health, and my vision, as I developed Thyroid Eye Disease so rapidly and intensly it moved faster than all interventions. Now, diabetic, major depression, with asthma, CFS and a mild heart attack, I am living in the UK to simply improve my "quality of life", inhaling the perfume of the explosion of gorgeous flowers and greenery, and hoping to reclaim some of "the simple things" I loved while I'm still here! I need to try Armour, since I feel myself "dying" each day, barely existing...but gave up hope when my doctor here told me my lab levels were in the "normal" range so I "was fine". Am looking forward to digesting your site slowly to (once again) regain the strength to fight for my life , via the en

Comments:Reading your post-college/wedding story is like reading part of my life. I starved myself, took OTC diet pills and gained it all back within 2 months. Sadly, my hypothyroidism was only dx at age 38 after 2 miscarraiges and is still not controlled. Now at 40, I have suffered two more losses and have possibly developed other immune diseases that impair pregnancy. I just had my doctor switch me to Armour thyroid and I hope it helps. My time for a healthy life and family has been altered by a lack of treatment and knowledge, I hope others can be helped by the type of information you provide. Thanks for the site!

I have had thyroid disease for seven years and have had a terrible time convincing doctors that something is wrong when you don't feel good while on 225mcg of Synthroid alone. I recently convinced my doc to try me on T3 as well, and my body feels like it's alive again! I hope he doesn't change his mind when he sees my lab results.......Thanks again for your site, it's been the best I have found yet! Ellen Hudson

It helped my fatigue symtoms, but I am having a hard time losing weight. I would appreciate any feedback and suggestions, Thanks
