Welcome to my thyroid journal, where I detail the journey I went through before finally optimizing my own thryoid's hormonal levels. When your thyroid is in balance, a lot of seemingly unrelated health problems dissipate or disappear. This is because your thyroid gland is responsible for many of your important daily functions.
Do you know what the side effects of thyroid related problems are? If not, you can find a list of them at my site.
Do you know what those symptoms are already, and think that you are suffering from hypothyroidism? Worse still, are you suffering from those symptoms while being informed by medical "professionals" that you are normal? If so, you can find out what I did to get diagnosed when I was in the same situation. In 1996 I began to suspect that I was suffering from hypothyroidism, but was repeatedly informed by doctors that I was "normal". Despite the intensening of my symptoms, I was unable to find a doctor that was willing to work with me to make me feel better.
This site details what I had to do to find a doctor that would not only listen to me, but would provide constructive measures to help me feel better. It took me three years to get to that point! By sharing what I did to finally get some answers, I hope to help someone else avoid suffering needlessly for a similar time frame.
Don't let a doctor convince you that he/she knows your body better than you do.
If you are just beginning, or are in the midst of, understanding thyroid problems, then I hope this site will help you. I am not a doctor, but I have gone through a long and painful road to treatment, and I want to share my journey with anyone who might benefit from the details. I was fortunate enough to have finally found a great doctor, who not only helped me with my problems, but helped me to understand the problem itself. By sharing my own search for answers and how I ultimately found my own Dr. Right, I hope you will be able to do the same.
